Well maybe it shouldn't be a chain with spikes on it.  A chain with spikes on it sounds a lot like a chain with blades on it, and well we all know who uses that weapon...

yea... every effin belmont. Ball and chain anyway.

How much like GoW is "like Gow" because that can very ALOT. Like people say Bayonetta, NG, DMC, Darksiders are "like GoW" but none of those made me bored like GoW did. This right now, if my only fear... that it is alot like GoW to the point that I'll be bored to hell and back. You're the 2nd person, I think, that said it already and I already expressed my concern after hearing it the first post but no one ever said how much like it it is.

Well, it seems LoS has that little slow-mo thing going on when you are about to strike the enemy. I haven't played those games much, but I think that's classic GoW. And if so, it's kind of unnecessary.

And yeah, I agree with the sound. I wish there was a crack or a snap or something. Makes hitting stuff ballsier. That's certainly something LoI managed well.

The statement that Dracula is in the game is still moot.

http://ht.ly/17Nlfm

If it is such a secret I wonder how they are going to introduce him. Knowing the story so far I've seen so real reason why Gabe would come in conflict with him but we'll see.  :-X

I think the best way to introduce him would be to have him as a minor, maybe even just a hinted character in this game. Have him develop into a really menacing villain and use him as a big baddie later.

Forgive the canon connections here but...

LoS is set in 1047 which is way before LoI, where we learn that Matthias becomes Dracula later on. So maybe if Drac is in LoS, he pulls a "Terminator" move & time travels back to the VERY beginning to wipe out the Belmonts before another generation can appear? (That would lend some credence to the "destryong the Belmonts" line in the 1st trailer). Yea that would not be very original whatsoever but who knows. But then again, maybe time travel is involved somehow...cuz how else will they explain how Carmilla, Laura and Cornell are in the game when they are in games 7-800 years later? You gonna tell me they are all older than Dracula and have been around the whole time? I don't buy that.

Or maybe you just missed every single press conference and interview where they say the game is a reboot, and not in the current canon?

How people are dumb enough to be still trying to connect the story is beyond me.

That's the point - they don't have to explain anything this time. They can make Simon and Richter a pair of midget twins for comic relief, or even secret gay lovers. Or both.

Or maybe you missed where I clearly said "forgive the canon connections here".

I know it's a reboot for fuck's sake. Chill out. As I've said time and again, they can make whatever timeline they want but when you have recurring characters, it's hard NOT to connect the story somehow.

Do you really think they'd make a Castlevania game without Dracula?  Really? Would it really be a Castlevania game without Dracula?

Oh I know maybe the boss is Zeus   ;)

Well, Dracula wasn't in LoI. There was just a subtle reference about him at the end of the game.

Castlevania was always about Dracula, especially back in the 80's/early 90's. LoS is taking the series back to those days, so I'm 99.9% sure Dracula is in the game.

I don't see how that would be hard to buy. A lot of minor villians like Death and Medusa are way older then him.

Death & Medusa yes...but you wouldn't think Carmilla and especially Laura would be older than Drac. I suppose they could be, but it always seemed to make sense to me that they were much younger.

Personally I don't see how this is even up for discussion. The games have nothing to do with each other, end of story. You're all overthinking it.

Doesn't mean it isn't fun to overthink.  :-[
