If its the one at the church, then I really can't see his face at all.
If its the meeting with Drac, then definitely no.

When you get a brief glimpse at the "face" before he ascends, it's all-too obvious that he's wearing a mask. The ridge jetting out from the chin(which I am 100% sure is NOT a beard- look at it again) and the lips are tell-tale signs.

I must admit, I'm pleasantly suprised the game is doing so well in reviews thus far.  An Edge 8 is as good a sign as any that the game is solid (Enslaved also got an 8 incidentally)--they'd quite happily post a 6 if it was poor, or was indeed a shameless rip-off of other games.  Ill need to try and pick up some of these mags.

A reflection on the combat: could be something much more remarkable than at first thought, perhaps I wasn't giving it enough credit.  The only real negative I'm reading seems to be with the camera, and that there's the sense of direction issue when the camera changes (see also: DMC).  Bah.

Congratulations to Mercurysteam, they'll be all smiles hearing these scores!

I'm all smiles having watched that gameplay trailer too.  Fantastico.

Same here. I'm surprised how many times the term "sleeper hit" has been used to describe this game. I just hope they can get some really good sales to match the hype. I still think it's a shame we haven't seen Konami advertise this; it's been said that this game is supposed to be more accessible to the mainstream, so why the hell aren't we seeing TV ads? Unless ads are run after release date. Am I missing something here?  :-\
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

Spectacular trailer, would have loved it even more if my internet didn't keep timing out while I was trying to watch it.

I can kind of hear Simon's theme in that music at the end but not really.

Now that's MUCH better, I can finally enjoy this video without the constant interruptions.

SCIV music, hahaha, what a tease, but they delivered on their promise. The environments look incredibly atmospheric, it's all very beautiful looking.

Zobek in a grave yard kneeling next to what I assume is a fallen Knight from the Order/Brotherhood.

Fantastic gameplay montage, and I think this trailer confirmed Necromancer is in fact Death after all.

The combat looks satisfying as hell, I'm amazed at how many moves you can pull off. It feels like the game is going to feel similar to your typical hack and slash for a few hours, but as the game progresses it will naturally evolve into it's own beast. I'm really loving that Guillotine upgrade where after making contact with the ground Gabe cracks the whip up slashing enemies from below. That nunchuck like move was pretty cool looking, and I love the one where he's caught in a flurry of constantly cracking the whip on the ground in a combo like fashion. I remember seeing that move from the E3 trailer and I hoped they would keep it in the final game. I can definitely see some Holy Water being mixed in the combat, very nice.

Platforming looks fantastic, the double jump from SotN makes a comeback, wings and all. Grappling and scaling walls looks pretty fun, and swinging across chasms with the whip made me feel all warm inside. Very SCIV.

Puzzles look pretty nice, nothing innovative or particularly new but from what they showed they look pretty basic.

The titan footage looks like a less rythmic SotC, but that's fine. I'm honestly not looking forward to battling the titans that much. They look impressive, no doubt, but I have my eye on everything else. :P

"Gabriel Belmont, and his Vampire Killer."

I feel like that just confirmed that the Combat Cross is actually the Vampire Killer. Dave alluded to it in an interview months ago and it's looking more and more likely to be the case. Awesome.

Oh man, that music. Delightful. I can barely hear Simon's theme in it but it's great.

A cloaked figure walking down a church hallway with what appears to be someone crucified on a cross? Maybe it's just a statue of Jesus but it looks like someone is actually hanging off of it? Reminded me a little bit of Rondo of Blood's intro.

Now we get a glimpse of the same cloaked figure and what appears to be a glimpse at his beard. Zobek? Great shot of Slogra in the wall, he looks gigantic in this game. I'll bet Gaibon is on one of the upper levels too. That whole area looks amazing, I can't tell where it is though. Now we see a shot of the same mysterious man sitting in the throne enshrouded in darkness which everyone believes to be Dracula himself.

Epic trailer, cannot wait for this game.

Now, where the hell is that demo. I'm waiting for it to pop up on XBLA sometime today.

for those that saw the trailer
-
when the trailer narrator mentioned a particular prince of darkness, I can safely say that every Castlevania fan probably knows who's he talking about, but why do some people think Alucard would make an appearance? I think it's fairly obvious that when he said a prince of Darkness and the scene skips to a creepy guy sitting on a chair, that doesen't really say anything about Alucard. I wish it did but I don't see it.
My culture taught me that women are flowers to be protected and pure creatures, we are to be gentlemen and serve them. but you know what? they're *ssholes just like everybody else!

Right, so at this point I've decided spoiling this game would be downright foolish at this point. I've seen plenty from these trailers alone to wet my appetite to a more than generous rate, I can wait a few more weeks to play this on my own. I'll watch a couple playthroughs when they go up but not much, this game looks too delicious to spoil through youtube.

I noticed in the trailer that when he said a 'certain Prince of Darkness' (that's so you Jason Issac!), it showed the creepy looking man with long black hair sitting on the throne--anyone else thinks this may have been done to throw us off? Like he's not actually 'Dracula' persay but the current reigning PoD?  And maybe the cloaked man will actually become/is Dracula? Or someone else? (I think whomever it is might be wearing a mask: whomever is from the BoL--it's got the skull clasp on the robe-- but I don't think that's Zobek's beard or Gabe's five o clock shadow: the chin is too smooth.) And mark my words darn it, Zobek is going to betray Gabe somehow.

I don't know. Choosing the words "certain Prince of Darkness" almost implies that it IS Dracula. If it was just "Prince of Darkness", it would anybody in that role(hell, it could be the Devil). But saying "certain" kinda give the nod to CV fans, because in the CV series, there's not other "Prince of Darkness" than Dracula. Saying "certain Prince of Darkness" is almost implying that the people he's talking to KNOW who this Prince of Darkness is.

I think Dracula's in the game (I've thought that from the start...XD), I just wonder if he's really the guy sitting on the throne. It's like Cox has gone out of his way to hid the fact he's even in the game, let alone who will play him, up until this point, which makes me doubt he'd just *show* Dracula so easy in the trailer.  I could be wrong I'll admit, though I think Dracula will end up being a surprise or something.
