If Mercury Steam were to make just one more game, I would prefer if they just let that game be about Drac/Gabe fighting Satan in a final showdown in modern times. It would be extremely different, and it's definitely not what I originally wanted for this series, but it would mean that MS wouldn't need to explain the Belmont bloodline any further. Just leave it an enigma! Make it a two game timeline and focus on these two events - When Gabe turns into Drac (check!). And then when Gabe kills Satan again and dies doing so. Or something. The End.

Agreed, they should make their sequel and then be done with it. I wouldn't mind if they did another "elseworld's tale" as long as they stay away from the old characters. It's only confusing having four characters named Brauners running out, and as far as I know nobody seemed to like how old characters were altered in this game, but that's another topic.

It's hard to even talk about the likes of Brauner, Cornell and Olrox now cause they exist in multiple universes. No need for that.  KTHNXBYE.

What's so hard about it? The idea of multiple universes is hardly a new concept and anyone with basic language skills should be able to make the distinctions between versions (especially given the physical differences). Frankly, I think the way people keep bemoaning the differences runs counter to what you're saying if anything.

After that, someone else should take over Castlevania, not IGA, not Cox - someone new. I like LoS but the storyline confused me and did many unnecessary things with the old characters. If it's a reboot they should've left at least HALF of the IGA characters alone and introduced brand new characters instead. It's hard to even talk about the likes of Brauner, Cornell and Olrox now cause they exist in multiple universes. No need for that.  KTHNXBYE.

I second that, pass the Castlevania joint around and let someone else hit it before it get's burned out.

It's just so unneccessary and I don't like it, that's all. Lords of Shadow was a reboot - fine! I just don't see why the majority of characters in the reboot were old ones, and not just "classic" ones either. I mean.. Brauner? RLY?

Cox went on saying how he loved the classic games and then all I see in LoS are characters from the IGA games. Well, not all, but one too many. Except they have very little to do with the original characters, which is why I question them being in the game at all. They're only there so that we - the hardcore fans - would buy the game in the first place. I don't mind multiple universes, but I don't like how it was done in LoS. Maybe it has something to do with Castlevania having a set timeline with real dates. Had Castlevania been like Final Fantasy I wouldn't care about this.

Yes, fan service like that is pretty much pointless because the reference is lost on all the people who never played a Castlevania game before, and it's just annoying for fans because of reasons mentioned earlier.

The IGA characters should've been left out and instead, gone with a completely original caste of characters.

I would like MercurySteam to be the permament studio for "big" 'Vanias, though I would like Dave Cox NOT to be the permament producer/creative director. The studio needs time to perfect and keep the formula, but new ideas should keep coming.

Everything comes full circle

Yeah, some references like Cornell kinda made me scratch my head. I loved that Frankenstein is mentioned, though.

The Frankenstein thing made ME scratch my head, because I thought it was totally unnecessary. I realize is wasn't Victor and I realize that Frankenstein's monster was featured in many CV games of different timeframes so it's irrelevant, but for whatever reason I was like "Really, guys? You're stretching it".

I know....mindless reference for the sake of mindless reference, like many others in the game.

They meant to be humans in original version of the timeline. And even they are more powerful then average humans.
What eliminates possibility of them being non-humans in the other timeline except some questionable "meant to be"? Nothing.

Rules and concepts of one timeline not neccesary must be used in the other. That's actually idea behind reboot (well, good reboot that is).
we'll as many others have pointed out its not how it could be its how i (aswell as many others) want it to be and generally most people do not like the idea of a Belmont being directly related to Dracula.
its just doesn't feel right at all.
doesn't matter that they are more powerfull then the average human they are still HUMAN and i think it should stay that way

You said it.

Belmonts and Dracula are arch nemesis. Not part of the same family.

Frankenstein's Monster wasn't a fucking gigantic Scorpion that shoots lightning and is weak to fairies.

To me it's an Elseworld's take on the Castlevania mythos, nothing else. Just because it's a new timeline doesn't mean the original one doesn't exist anymore.
Exactly. So why some people crying over changes in the different timeline? Your favorite old good, covoluted and the same time unfinished timeline is still there, with your favorite characters and other stuff. Why it's neccesary to hate other one?

CV64 / LOD and COTM already were other universe. Temporally though, because IGA decied to let them be in his "glorious" timeline. Also he didn't feel need to explain how poor Dracula was revived almost like six or so time in a span of 100 years, but whatever. All in all it is not new concept for the series, so there is no sense to hate idea about multiple 'Vanias universes. If anything it is a good idea, so creators could take series into different directions and fell limited by restrictions imposed by story (and it's fans, though they will complain anyway, seemingly just because).

Very convincing and reasonable explanation of your motivation.  ::)

Old timeline rules not neccesary applicate to the new one.

And besides idea about Belmont and Dracula being related seemingly was in the air since Symphony of the Night. Moreso after Legends. So it is nothing new for the series. Again.
If MS or any other team, who'll try to use this idea, will be able to excute it succesfully, then I'll applaude them. It's not like they story renders everything that was before obsolete. Though it is exact reaction I observe, when people talk about separate CV'verse. Go figure...

Technically there are humans. Going by they powers there are not. More like powerfull mages or something like that. So...what difference it'll make if they become "Dracula related Belmonts"?

There's a difference between being a mage and being a human that has magical abilities. The Belmonts are NOT mages. That's still better than making them half-vampires that hunt down their father. That plot line should stay with Alucard.
