I think an entirely new ClassicVania on the 3DS would be the best thing they could do, especially if its in the style of DXC.

If they do make a new Metroidvania, I hope they try to make the environments feel like those in the classicvanias, where rooms were unique and the environment was actually hazardous rather than empty rooms filled with poorly placed enemies (I'm looking at you, OoE!). Getting rid of levels would also be great, but I wish they would just make enemies do more damage and give them less health. The classic games were perfect. It was easy for you to die, but the enemies still only took a few hits to kill.

If they made a new 3D game in the style of CV64 though, that would be incredible. I doubt IGA will do it though seeing his hate for the N64 games.

This is EXACTLY the kind of unoriginal thinking that KILLED the franchise during the last couple of years. I don't want more recycled material, neither pointless remakes or absurd sequels. Actually, I really hope that Konami have better ideas for the future than ANY of that things.

LOL, haters gonna hate.

"Killed" the franchise? Last time I checked the Castlevania series is still going strong, about 25 years actually, & the series is showing NO signs of slowing down since, well... ever. At what point in time did Konami "give up" on the Castlevania brand? Just because YOU don't like certain graphical aspects doesn't mean "Konami killed castlevania." I assume you stopped playing CV games right after CotM came out, or are you just another bandwagon fanboy?  :P

Do you think the game is going to come in current platfforms or should we wait ''til PS4/Xboxwhatever?

LoS nominated in various annual awards!
This time, IGn and Machinima ;)

Great! it was a long time ago since I saw CV nominated to something not called "Franchise that should be put to rest" (Yeah Ecclesia won some awards but that was 2007 so yeah)

IGN:
- Coolest Story
- Best atmosphere
- Best Visuals
- Best soundtrack (YEAH!)

Machinima:
- Best art direction (absolute win)
- Best game cinematography

Great isn't it?  :)

I doubt it will win anything.

This game got a nomination for coolest story BUT NIER DIDN'T?! IGN is the worst website on the internet.

Definitely current gen. I don't think PS4 is gonna happen for many years. A 360 sequel is more likely but not really... I strongly believe that console makers have finally understood that cutting edge graphics isn't all that counts. I thank the success of Nintendo Wii for that.

Looking at PS3 and 360 there's always room for graphical and technical improvements but I think we've reached a point where console evolution will slow down a bit, or at least change. There will definitely be a PS4 and a Xbox720 (LOL @ crap name) but I think the current consoles have many years left to live before PC Gaming (which kinda dictates modern what games should look like) demands new technology for consoles. And even then, Sony and Microsoft will realize that if Nintendo can be succesful with a technically inferior console, so can they (in theory at least).

Bottom line; Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo should know by now that bragging about advanced graphics can only get you so far these days. Games already look kinda spectacular. Innovation is where it's at.

So yeah, Lords of Shadow 2 should be PS3/XB360.

The "Coolest Story" nomination made me lol, but that's IGN for ya. I kind of agree with the other nominations though.

Nier had an amazing story. It's just not a super well known game. That's probably why they didn't pick it. It is nice to see LoS nominated for stuff though.

LoS Delivering of story was kinda amateurish, but story itself was really good, better than lots this gen for sure.

It doens't hold a candle against Red Dead Redemption though.

You are right. The correct sentence was "This is the kind of unoriginal thinking that ALMOST killed the franchise the last couple of years".

I am a "hater"? Well, I only hate BAD games with BAD graphics, BAD concept art, BAD difficulty curve and/or BAD controls. So, yep, maybe I am a "hater". Sort of.

And, actually, Konami had problems with this saga. Because the last games don't sell as they expected. And this is a fact that you can't ignore: the infamous Judgament was an immense failure. Portrait of ruin and Dawn of Sorrow made under expectations.

I tried to play ALL Castlevanias. But, unfortunately, I don't like to waste my time.

I think the Castlevania games are FAR from "bad." But to each his own.

Every company has problems with their franchises. Doesn't mean the CV series was on the road to failure. Guess what? Konami would've continued with more games even if MercurySteam never came along. Also, MANY people bought & enjoyed DoS/PoR, so speak for yourself.

Yet you have plenty of time to bitch about them on the internet.

I don't understand why some people nitpick so much.

I really don't know why I'm the one that "sounds full of hate" when I'm only receiving insults from our fellow companions. For example: I use the word BAD but I don't speak about the people that like that games or even titles of games. And, you know, Judgament have bad graphics, bad concept art, bad difficulty curve and bad controls. I thought almost everyone was agree on that.

And of course I am a fan. I am a fan of the original Cv, a fan of CV III, of CV IV, of Bloodlines, Rondo and LoS. I love all that games. Are not enough for you? I'm only a "real fan" if I like more than the 50% of the titles? C'mon...
