I really don't know why I'm the one that "sounds full of hate" when I'm only receiving insults from our fellow companions. For example: I use the word BAD but I don't speak about the people that like that games or even titles of games. And, you know, Judgament have bad graphics, bad concept art, bad difficulty curve and bad controls. I thought almost everyone was agree on that.

And of course I am a fan. I am a fan of the original Cv, a fan of CV III, of CV IV, of Bloodlines, Rondo and LoS. I love all that games. Are not enough for you? I'm only a "real fan" if I like more than the 50% of the titles? C'mon...

Hi

Personally, I'm not bitching against IGA or IGA's team. They want to make easy money and they perfectly know how to do this well. Instead of that, I keep *trying* to open the eyes of all IGA fanboys that all the games they love are just fake Castlevania. May be good games, but they are not good Castlevania.

I played and finished absolutely all Castlevania games. (erh...not Order of Shadows which is just pathetic). And I'm sure Lords of Shadow has his role to play in Castlevania saga. It's a new aproach, another concept, another start for the Castlevania series.

*Hords of fanboys will kill me*

Just had a theory. What if, in the next game, just like how Gabriel decided to call himself "Belmont," the next hero also adopts the same surname after he heard legends of a Belmont hero saving the world in 1047? That way we won't have a Legends-esque plot of the heroes being descended from Dracula 'n stuff.

This idea is like having Darth Vader saying:

"Luke... I have absolutely no relationship with you. That's it."

It would be awful. It would destroy all the family tragedy. Of course, at this point, we have no idea of what will happen with the story. Maybe you are right. But I really (I mean, REALLY) hope the writers will have a better solution.

At the end of LoS it is established that the Belmonts are descendants of Dracula. That is what I want to see in the next game. I don't want a Dracula-solo storyline (that, unfortunately, it is still possible) or having another clan that, suddenly, decides to call themselves Belmont for dubious reasons.

I really have not interest in a tale without drama behind it. It's like having McBeth saying: "Sorry guys, you were right. I'm a mad king. Take the crown."

But, actually, i never mention IGA. I was speaking about ideas for future games: a forum member have a "wish list" that, in my sincere opinion, was awful. And I only wanted to point out "why".

What if a third Sorrow would be the 1999 game? Just had a theory.

This "1999 story" IS a theory. Not a game.
Luckily, we'll never play this "fabulous game" as this IGA coward gave up on this genius project.
For one time, it's a clever decision. God is on our side. May he keeps IGA FAR from Castlevania !

I'd support the hell out of that....especially if it's on the 3DS. I plan on getting the 3DS at launch and a Castlevania game on the system will make the purchase much sweeter. That is, assuming one does release on the system....which I'm sure one will.

Of course it is not. And it was the best option of that list. But it was not a "Castlevania on 3DS". The exact words were a "3DS METROIDVANIA". The new Nintendo portable system will have a lot of possibilities. So, waste that opportunity with the "standard Metroidvania" would be an awful idea.

"All the Castlevania games you have been playing were a lie!"

"Ok."

No, it isn't.

It's not entirely clear if IGA ever intended to make the 1999 game. Some older interviews suggest that he felt that story had already been told through the Sorrow games, and he almost sounded a bit surprised when he found out that fans wanted to play that particular story. Which is insane since it is THE event of the entire IGA storyline. Dracula dies and stuff. Well well, whatever. I don't think we'll see the game either. But IGA will definitely not stay away from Castlevania, not for another game or two.

Uh, more like Dracula is a descendant of the Belmonts which is completely reversed. Though I do remember it being said that Gabriel was not a real Belmont. Technically, if you didn't want a Dracula solo storyline... then you didn't want LoS... as it is just that though, it isn't revealed until the end.

No, because "Belmont" is a surname invented. And the guy who invented it (the first one of the clan) IS, indeed, Count Dracula.

LoS it is a prequel to an "origin" story. A new, fresh, beginning for the Castlevania universe. And, in my opinion, it succeed. I like this new take on the hero and this new take on the villain.

I loved this title as a videogame. Much more than others entries of the franchise. And it was pretty obvious for me from the very beggining the "final revelation".

But now, is when the "saga" starts. And at this moment, is when things became really difficult to the writers. How many things will appear from the previous games? How many new stuff?

The first storyline is, obviously, a solo storyline. And the main character is Dracula because the whole game is about the adventures of the character before become Prince of the undead.

Now, there are 1000 years between the ending of LoS and the post-credit scene. And I want games about that period. I want to see Trevor, Simon, Alucard... new versions of our old friends. If the next game is about Dracula in the 2000s fighting Satan, I will not like it. At all.

Yeah I don't think IGA is done with Castlevania (yet) but I also don't think IGA doing the 1999 game either.

Then I remembered wrong. I could've sworn I read somewhere that he was adopted into the Belmonts or something like that.

Regardless, before or not, he's still Dracula. So the game is a Dracula only game.

who is to say its a "standard" metroidvania? the genre exists outside of just symphony and its clones, you know. the sub-genre has a lot more potential than is being tapped, and considering how different the 3DS is from the DS its probably one of the best opportunities to start doing that, especially considering its probably going to be a bit harder to get away with the kind of sprite re-use we saw in portrait and dawn, and to a lesser extent ecclesia.
