Boring soundtrack, im going to delete it right nao! >:(
Bring Michiru back please!!!

It's amazing how people who apparently love an artist's work are completely oblivious to her current occupations. I'm not even such a fan of Yamane's work (it's good, but I can completely live without it, and I much prefer the Classicvania tunes) and I know she LEFT Konami and isn't planning to work on videogames anymore.

Mercury Steam couldn't bring her in even if they wanted to.

were is your CONFIRMED news that she isn't planing on working on videogames anymore?
please post a link.
or do you know her?
all i remember hearing is that she left the company.
that still could mean she freelances however and thus could be hired to compose again

Wrong. She left Konami but said she would be willing to work on Castlevania again. Kind of like how Uematsu left Square but eventually still worked on FF14.

And she did some remixes herself on that Castlevania music collection released a few months ago, that was after she left if I recall.

As I pointed out, I'm not exactly the biggest Yamane fan; I've read an interview (on Eurogamer, I think) about 3 or 4 years ago about her leaving Konami do "dedicate herself to other things than videogames" and didn't really follow her work after that.

I was merely musing about the fact that if I know that - as a guy who loves Castlevania but isn't particularly fond of Michiru's work - you would expect someone who's so in love with her music that they would want it in a game where it wouldn't really fit to know better than me.

Point being: I'm glad MS didn't contact her for LoS (I appreciate her work in the Metroidvania games, as the repetitive but catchy tunes work with the game format, but I'll admit I've not been blown away by anything in PoR or OoE, so if she worked on that I'm gonna count myself as even less of a fan) but even if they wanted to, I doubt they could arrange anything at this point.

we'll bottom line is regardless of you not being a fan you still jumped the gun a bit by saying that she isn't working on videogames anymore without any reliable verification of such.
you should really remember not to jump to conclusions in the future just saying ;)

That's actually NOT the bottom line. It's actually pretty fucking irrelevant with respect to what he was expressing.

Um, Kojima does artwork.

I think Corneliab got what I meant better; once again my point is that if I as a tiepid Yamane fan know about her leaving Konami, people who REALLY like her probably should know too (and probably raged over it in the past). Just that, no bigger meaning.

I'd have to dig up the article where I read of her leaving, but I do remember it sounding like she was extremely tired of working on videogame music or at least very eager to try something else.

Her working with Konami again past that resolution could mean my memory isn't working well (likely) or that her alternative career didn't pick up and she still needs to pay the bills (wouldn't honestly have a clue). Anyone knows what she did ever since? Did she "break through" in other fields?

Get the chaps who composed the music for Super Castlevania IV if they're still around.
