As much as I want to see the 1999 game as much as everyone else, I'd rather get a Draculas Curse remake. It's my favorite game of all time and I think it's due.
What a horrible night to have a curse!

A Dracula's Curse remake would have been the perfect way reboot.  Anyone with the faintest grasp of the mythos would have started there.  And that leads me to wonder who dropped the ball?  Was it the suits at Konami of Japan?  Kojima Productions?  Mercury Steam?  or was it all Mr Cox's doing?  In any case, the Demon Castle War should have finished the existing continuity before rebooting the whole thing.

Yea but that does not mean it can not be improved.

Just look at Rondo of Blood for example.

Another game that was just perfect the way it was and was made even better by getting a 2.5D facelift.

Agreed we've come along way since the NES --Dracula's Curse was really ahead of its time.  And if Konami is ready to get serious about rebooting, there would be no better starting point for noobs to join the cult of Castlevania.

What i really want to see is the Demon Castle War in game form. If not that then a Dracula's Curse remake.

Welcome to the club. :P

I still say that Konami will stick to the LoS realm for now, for continuity sake (and sales)

I HIGHLY doubt that they will go the LOS route with this anniversary game.

After all its supposed to be a anniversary celebrating all the classic years of Castlevania not a celebration of the newer titles (LOS).

So it would be downright stupid for them to go the LOS route for the Anniversary.

But after the anniversary that is another story...

Please explain exactly how they are outdated?

Because last I checked a PS4 or Xbox720 has not been released yet.

So until that happens it IS still a Next Gen system and it IS NOT outdated. ;)

Crysis for the PC released in 2007, which KILLED the Xbox360 and PS3 at every aspect.
the problem? Consoles are supposed to at least last 5 years before PC crushes them, this is less than 1 year after xbox360 released.
the Verdict is Crysis is STILL imposible on the Xbox360 and PS3, whilst Half-life eventually did get a console port in the same Gen.
the Reason is the console specs are so minimalist the $350 price tag was 90% profit.
the Xbox360 and PS3 would have had a fighting chance if they were given more RAM and VRAM which was more than possible at that time.

This is true. I remember hearing that Hideo Kojima who was producing MGS4 at the time, seriously overestimated the PS3's capabilities and as such, was forced to 'cut down' on MGS4 somewhat so it would be playable on the PS3.

No, the LOS saga will take a back seat for the Anniversary, Im sure Konami will focus on the classic continuity and give the longtime fans what they want.

Fun fact: MGS4 doesn't even render in widescreen. They had knock the resolution down to a standard ratio, and stretch it out to fill the screen.
