BTW, which of the reboot games was it mentioned that the castle is an evil entity itself and why it's ever changing?

LoS1 mentioned that. I might be wrong, but I think the knight who wrote about it is found in the clockwork tower.

It mentions that the original owners, the Bernhards, made a pact with a demon for the place, and as a result, the castle is demonic and living, and that many attempts at mapping it have failed,  which leads to the knight thinking the castle might be ever changing.

or something like that
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

So has anyone else found any other references?

Was the Mothman mentioned in this thread?  The original Mothman is part of cryptozoological studies with the original book being written by John Keel.  It also brought forth the real life Men In Black, which later inspired the comedy movie and characters like the Observers in Fringe.

Come to think of it.... Have Men In Black (again, the people, not the Will Smith/Tommy Lee Jones movies) or similar been referenced in Castlevania?

Apparently, Agharta's name was a reference to Albus' Agartha gun. Kind of a lame reference, if you ask me.

Outside of that, I've got nothing anymore.

In LoS, if you throw knives while Dark Magic is turned on, (I think this is an upgrade though) you basically toss fireballs. Considering Gabe's ultimate fate, i think this is a pretty funny nod.

The very start of LoS right before you are handed control, is a shout out to the tradition of having the Belmont facing the Castle gates

This is also in MoF as Simon stares at the castle entrance as the bridge goes up.

I meant other than the list I compiled. The fireball thing is pretty cool however...

I remember reading that the protagonist was named Gabriel inspired by the hero in Van Helsing whose first name was revealed to be Gabriel by Dracula.

I kinda feel like watching Van Helsing again.  lol.

I wonder if they're going to use it in LOS2. Looks pretty cool....

If you look at the spiders in LOS 1 their "back parts" have the form and the facial structures of a skull. This might be a reference to Zelda's Skulltullas.

I was gonna say that was a stretch, but then i remembered another bit of trivia

In the necromancer's abyss, there is a portal puzzle involving what a scroll calls "aperture magic". the portals, look pretty much like the ones from portal.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, or if it's in the thread, but does anyone else see that Alucard's slide in Mirror of Fate is similar to his slide in SOTN?
