I'm happy about the decision, because IGa's chronology is Messed up. It's full of plot holes, incoherent situations nd a repetitive flow of argument.
Just imagine; this game will have a heavy story, we already know that, so, in that huge story there will be new characters and new important situations and certainly, new plot holes related to them and the full story; only a LOS saga could fix those holes, the original saga could be even more damaged in storyline with new plotholes and things to explain in a simple story games like IGA's ;)

If nothing else, just look at it like as being part of a separate timeline. But don't ignore and pass on playing what's possibly a great game just because it's not part of IGA's timeline.

"Classic chronology" doesn't mean solely "IGAVanias". Calling it that is redundant.

I think they should compromise. Take the kickassest of Belmonts and the games that make most sense and have them part of it. I don't think they should ditch everything.

Awesome. I was afraid that we weren't going to hear any of the classic tunes. Maybe we'll get a nice orchestrated remix of the treasury level from CVIV!

Yay, old Castlevania tunes! I really hope it'll have a remixed Monster Dance from Simon's Quest. It's about time. Also, Dwelling of Doom.

Gabriel Belmont!!!! So, does that means that at the end of the trailer the dialogue is between Gabriel and Dracula? This sounds more and more interesting to me and since David loves C.IV, i hope that we will have some tunes remastered from it!!!!

I know what you mean, Kamirine, but as A-Yty said, it's not just IGA's timeline they're throwing out, it's the *entire* timeline!! That means the original, Simon's Quest CV3, Super CV4, and Chi no Rondo games won't be a part of this timeline!! :'( :'( :'( :'( I loved all those games...if they just junked everything post symphony that IGA had a hand in, that wouldn't be *so* bad, but now the old classics won't be canon either! That makes me mad >:( >:( >:(

Oh well. I'll probably end up buying it anyways, because I'm just a big Castlevania fanboy...Konami loves milking guys like me ;;_;;

why the fuck are you all getting upset that the old games aren't canon with this one? you're acting like they get wiped off the face of the earth.

we don't even know if the older games were intended to all be canon either...IGA just tried to mash them all together into a timeline.

I'm glad this game is sounding more and more to be Castlevania than I originally thought. I've been excited for it since the very first trailer, but I'm getting much more excited, I can't wait.
What a horrible night to have a curse!

I really doubt the older games weren't intended to be 'canon,' I mean Simon's Quest was a direct sequel to the original CV, after all.

You're right in that it's not as if the old games were 'wiped off the face of the earth,' but some folks really like the established Castlevania mythos; although some wouldn't mind seeing IGA's shenanigans dismissed from the timeline they *would* mind seeing the events of Simon's Quest, Rondo of Blood, etc. being dismissed. If this game isn't connected to the other ones, it makes it that much less appealing.

Now, as I said, this isn't a dealbreaker for *me* personally, being a castlevania whore as I am I'll probably just buy it anyways. However, it's definitely not a good thing in some people's views, mine included :/

To me, it's more about KILLING the old continuity in favor of a new one. Yeah, sure, we can always go back, but some of us still want games that take place in the world where CV1, CV2, and CV3 are canon. A world where Trevor, Simon and Richter's legacy still exists. It's not like CV's been dead for years and they are barely choosing to reboot it, hence doing a sequel to the original canon(all these years later) would feel strange over that of a reboot. CV's original canon's been going on up to recent and despite some of IGA's tired castletroids, some of his recent projects were awesome(Dracula X Chronicles, Order of Ecclesia).

Now, if the original canon is allowed to co-exist with the LoS's canon, and we still get games that take place in the original canon, I wouldn't mind that. But saying the old world is dead and we'll never revisit(ever), that type of thinking never flew right with me.
