Oh boy I can't wait to see how many blatant lies are told in the lead up to it's release & what kind of absurd twist ending they have in store to guarantee continued interest ;D

He makes it sound like they aren't even 100% if their next work is going to be a Castlevania game. If it is though I hope there is something between now and then. 2 1/2 years is a long time!

It is a long time, but if we get a great game then I don't really care. Besides, I'm sure IGA will have something to whet our appetite before then.

Ah yes nall, it is very interesting to ponder. Possibilité?

 - CastleVania ReBirth II: Belmont's Revenge; a Wii exclusive which may or may not be a bad thing

 - Creating a port of Harmony Of Despair for PSN (hmmm)

 - CASTLEVANIA JUDGMENT 2, with artwork done by either Eiichiro Oda or IGA himself

 - A PS# port of Akumajou Dracula: The Arcade which will give me a reason to purchase a "Move"

 - a 3DS Metroivania will be day 1 buy probably

I would also like to see more cooperation between IGA KOJIMA & COX PLEASE

All of which I would buy. Especially a new Metroidvania regardless of platform. Well, actually I don't know if I'd buy the port of HoD since I already played the hell out of it on XBOX Live.

Im down for the long wait just as long as they polish the hell out of the sequel.(I mean polish is so much birds will fly torwards to it)

In the meantime I'll take the (hopefully) 3DS Castlevania(s) and the DLC for Lords of Shadow.

I want to see more then just a polish for the sequal. I want to see a much better game that isn't bogged down with SotC fights (Plateform fights included), mindless GoW enemy smashing and the overuse of puzzles and such. I want a much better CV experience and I want the game to have that familier CV vib that LOS was lacking. I won't mind at all waiting 2 1/2 years for it so long as they diliver on what the fans (that's us) want.

This, yes.  I didn't have any other major complaints about the game.

This is EXACTLY the kind of unoriginal thinking that KILLED the franchise during the last couple of years. I don't want more recycled material, neither pointless remakes or absurd sequels. Actually, I really hope that Konami have better ideas for the future than ANY of that things.

Worst thing that could happen is if the 3DS Castlevania is in 3D. I mean, 3D like LoI and CoD. The 3DS is certainly capable of pulling it off, but I don't think IGA is. Also, I strongly dislike playing 3D games on handhelds. It just doesn't work for me.

Having said that, I actually hope the 3DS debut is a Metroidvania rather than a haphazard 3D action game. There are many things they can do with the formula that hasn't been touched upon yet. Such as getting rid of the leveling up. Instead, they could have the player extending his/her health meter by picking up items similarily to how you'd go about it in the Metroid games. There's absolutely no need for leveling up in games like this. Also, your stats should increase depending on what armor/weapon you equip only. NO POWER LEVELING! I think games like Super Metroid have the perfect difficult level. The Metroidvanias could've been just like that, but instead they're all cakewalks - yes, CotM and OoE included.

I wouldn't mind a new 3d action IGA game but yeah i'd definately prefer it on console opposed to on the 3DS. The 3DS is perfect for the next big side scrolling Castlevania. Don't know how I feel about not being able to level up. It wouldn't break my heart if they didn't put it in but I've kind of become attached to it. OoE provided a good challenge for me.
