Who can forget this badass! Closest thing we've got for a CastleVania movie so far! Ironically, the movie is inspired from the original NES game.

Too true.  In essence, you can really say that Van Helsing is a Castlevania movie without Death and the Belmonts.

You could even call it a Castlevania side story! after all, we have plenty of side stories with no Belmonts.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

In the anime, Kekaishi, there is a castle called Kodoboro in another dimension.  The master of the castle is slowly weakening and as she weakens, the castle crumbles more and more.  The castle seems to be connected to its master just like how the castle in the CV series is connected to Dracula and will have completely crumbled once its master dead.

It's more of the world that the castle is a part of that crumbles with the master than the castle. It's the same with other "gods" in the story as well.

I shouldnt be reviving the dead, but due to my absent nature, (of life)

Did anyone else notice the dracula in vanhelsing looks exactly with the same hair style, as the original Rondo of blood's instruction manual picture of dracula? also we had frankenstein in the movie, and werewolfs, just didnt have medusa etc.

in rosario + vampire, when Moka's father is "defeated" the castle collapses (just a pity his voice actor in the anime wasnt norio wakamotto)

soul of darkness, could be considered castlevania:

Well there was that blatant reference in metal gear did anyone mention that yet? The last boss of metal gear solid was it? He said something about the player liking to play castlevania.

depending on what you have saved on your memory card, Mantis would say things, that might be a different metal gear though

I have "Soul of Darkness"  It totally feels like a Metroidvania title, only with slightly choppier gameplay and less customization options.
I need to finish that game.  I believe I'm at the 2nd to last stage.

I have it on my ancient flip phone, which is still lying about specifically for the games I installed on it.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.
