This idea is like having Darth Vader saying:

"Luke... I have absolutely no relationship with you. That's it."

Haha, are you serious?

Quote
It would be awful. It would destroy all the family tragedy. Of course, at this point, we have no idea of what will happen with the story. Maybe you are right. But I really (I mean, REALLY) hope the writers will have a better solution.

Having the Belmonts being DHAMPYRES is awful, there's ways to make a good tragedy without making everybody related to one another.

Quote
At the end of LoS it is established that the Belmonts are descendants of Dracula.

Which is really, really dumb. It sounds like a bad fanfiction story you can find on the internet. The Belmonts were always a clan of HUMAN hunters that have mysterious powers of fighting evil. But lets just explain that with "they all come from Dracula lol compelling right?" I suppose I was right in calling you a bandwagon fanboy, somebody that likes something that's hot now but when the flame starts to diminish, you fade back into "lurk mode" & abandon CV like other people do.

I really have not interest in a tale without drama behind it. It's like having McBeth saying: "Sorry guys, you were right. I'm a mad king. Take the crown

It's a video game series with silly themes, so no, it's NOT like McBeth.

Considering that I am still buying CV games after dozens of disappointments, I consider my faithfulness to this saga a very proven fact.

I hope the next game is the prequel to the prequel to the origin story instead.

Yet just a page ago you said you don't like to "waste your time" with playing those awful games, yet you're still buying them? Which is it?

I buy them all. Then, I give that games a chance. Then I sell it. Then I hope the next one will be better.

I'm pretty sure lots of people do the same thing.

They should try to top Devil May Cry's prequel to the prequel manga to the prequel manga of the prequel.

I'd say the next game,(or the DLC) Gabe learns of his roots to the Cronqvist family and disownes the Belmont name.

In fact I kinda see this happening since he doesn't like being called by his former name in the ending.

Gabriel takes on the surname "Belmont" because of his love of the mountains.

"Some years ago, a child was found on the door of one of the Brotherhood of Lights convents. It is not known who his original parents were though some suspected he was an unwanted bastard from a local wealthy landowner, most likely the Cronqvist family though this has never been proven.

The order gave the nameless boy the Christian name of one of the blessed archangels, Gabriel and raised him as one of its own members. The precocious child quickly proved to be extremely talented, developing a mastery of the fighting arts unprecedented in the Brotherhood.

Gabriel took the surname of Belmont, after his love of mountains and the high places of the World. "

However, as you can see from the same description, he may in face be a descendant of the Cronqvist clan.

So, with these two being story facts, we can arrive at some conclusions:

1. Gabriel's "Belmont" surname has NOTHING to do with the actual "Belmont" family line of vampire hunters... unless he is the start of such a family.  Without Marie, however, that seems unlikely.  Note: If he has a child with someone else after the events of LoS, an unlikely but not impossible scenario, then we can lay some merit on the theory.  However, with nothing mentioned, there is little to no room for an assumption at this time.

There 'could' be a Belmont Family already existing in the LoS Timeline.  However, that family would be completely unrelated to Gabriel.  Thus, he cannot be 'the father of the Belmonts', as mentioned here.

It is also possible that Gabriel had a bastard child with someone else while being away from Marie... but that, too, seems unlikely, as her character entry tells of her being childhood friends with Gabriel, and them being married out of love.  It would defeat the purpose for him to have cheated on her, what with him going on the entire LoS quest to save her out of love.

"I love you so much I risked my entire existence to free you from torture... but a couple of years ago I cheated on you with this hooker."  <---UNLIKELY

Dark fantasy? hardly... it might've been once... but it's long gone from that.

Yeah, it's hard to fathom how he's going to go from a Belmont to just out of the blue sporting the "Dracula" title. There's going to have to be a lot of backstory in the next game to explain how that came about in a reasonable manner.

And with as little emphasis as they put on the Belmont name, it'll be hard to imagine how the family lineage survives this supposed only member of the family having his wife die then turning into the strongest vampire in existence over the course of 900+ years.

Jorge, there could be another theory - we don't know how Gabriel turned into a vampire. Was it the Devil Mask's power he took for his own? Did he go back to Laura and ask to be turned for some reason? There's nothing to say he, out of sheer despair, might have looked to any form of comfort after the whole world-nearly-ending ordeal and may have sought it in the arms of a sympathetic female? He could have accidentally sired a child before becoming a vampire. It's a long-ass stretch, but not impossible.

This.
I think Laura played a surprisingly small role in the game. It's almost as if some of the content was cut - or saved - for the DLC. Also, Laura just sort of just "waaah! I don't wanna play anymore!!" and then disappeared? I was expecting a boss battle. Or something else, not that.

Well seeing that Laura is the only person Gabriel didn't kill and going on what little info about the DLC, I'd say Laura will somehow be tied with what happened to Gabriel.

I think it'd be too coincidental if Gabriel just so happened to pick the "Belmont" surname and ran around hunting vampires while there actually is a family of vampire hunters with the "Belmont" surname. I hope the DLC shows us what happened so we can put these theories to rest.

My guess is that Gabe has a child some time after the end of the LoS DLC. That child will play a part in the sequel. What leads up to this will be part of the DLC.

At the end of LoS it is established that the Belmonts are descendants of Dracula.
No it isn't, Gabriel was never even a real Belmont. He gave himself the surname when he was younger. As far as anyone knows, no real Belmonts actually exist in this timeline.
