Medusa is actually an entity that consists of many souls?

Whomever stated this obviously doesn't know his Greek myths very well. I Confess it sounds like another bad CV idea like what IGA did with Dracula's origin.

Still to this day I believe Hellsing (anime) Ripped off Castlevania

Ripoff or not (I don't see any connections at all save for the aforementioned homage with manga chapters titled "Castle Vania"—amidst a bunch of other video game titles, by the way), Hellsing has a compelling story that's written and executed well, so I'll take it over most of the game series' storylines. There has yet to be a well-done Castlevania story; the simpler the stories are the better, it seems. Funny to say that the earliest games with little story elements are the least embarrassing.
Oh yeah, and also:

Despite the fact that I've put it over Super CV IV for a while now, I've only recently actually played it, and only gotten a couple levels in.

Furthermore, the original (FM synth) soundtrack is basically the only thing I don't have in the big Castlevania playlist I compiled (well, along with the Perfect Selection Rap CD and the Harmony of Despair soundtrack), which is something of a severely glaring omission for those who know me.

(Admittedly that's partly because I'm waiting for an eventual VGM rip of the game audio, but still!)

I have Succubi pics in my fap folder

Now that is a confession.

For the longest time the Rondo of Blood soundtrack was my morning jog music. It just has that nice upbeat and motivating sound to it. How about you guys? Do you have a good CV cardio playlist going on?

Now that is a confession.
One more R34-related confession then.
I once stumbled upon a set of fanart of Dracula literally raping poor Richter on a certain site. My mind has since been scarred for life...
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.
^^
You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

I should make a distinction between confessions per se, as in motivated by guilt, and simple opinions and viewpoints that by my recognition fall into the unorthodox.

The former:

  • I purchased Harmony of Despair twice over, with all DLC included, and I don't even like the game. I am history's greatest monster.
  • After my initial playthrough of Dawn of Sorrow in 2005, I thought it superior to Symphony of the Night, which I played in the same year. Contrast with my current view of it as an uninspired, utterly boring video game that has little reason to exist next to its laudable direct predecessor.
  • Similarly, I used to abhor the music in Harmony of Dissonance. I've long adored it at this point.
  • I spent money on Legends/Lords of Shadow/The Belmont Legacy.
  • I'll likely continue to follow the series, even in its lamentable present state, and against my better knowledge.

The latter:

  • I'm somewhat fond of The Adventure, for its unique atmosphere, level concepts, bestiary and stark Game Boy minimalism.
  • To a lesser extent, I have a soft spot for Vampire Killer and Haunted Castle. Enough to persist against the odds and having legitimately beaten them a few times, at least.
  • Who gives a shit about 1999? Or any unrealized story hook littered about the series, for that matter? Yep.
  • I'm very much amused when MercurySteam's overwrought and childish storytelling is mistaken for actual narrative merit and depth.
  • Symphony of the Night's original English script is very strong work by Jeremy Blaustein, and it's bothersome how people consider it an Internet punchline, when the fault lies with the tragicomical performances delivered by the actors, not the dialogue itself.
  • Harmony of Dissonance stands to this day as the most interesting game out of the Symphony-derived Castlevania bubble.
  • All Dawn of Sorrow's Julius mode does is further expose the game for the empty, dead husk it really is.
  • Dracula X on the SNES is a bad ROM hack of Rondo of Blood, and nothing more.
  • Lords of Shadow's failings do not solely comprise of "it's not Castlevania". Taken on its individual merits, it's a terribly awkward, humdrum example of its representative genre.

I didn't read every single one of these before me, so I'm sure there're some repeats in mine, but here goes-

-I haven't completed a single 8-bit CV adventure yet, but I'm working on it with the virtual console.

-I think the original SOTN voice acting is only slightly better than having acid poured into my ear canals...only slightly. Yuri Lowenthal took some getting used to, but he's a fine Alucard. I also like the new script too. The original was actually fine, it was just been improved upon i.m.o..

-I cosplayed as Maria Renard for Halloween from the ages of 13-15, then again when I was 17.

-I cosplayed as Lisa Farenheights for Halloween when I was 16.

-I used a jump rope with one of the plastic handles torn off & a soft ball wrapped up in the bare end, super glued for added security as the Vampire Killer when I would play "REAL CASTLEVANIA, NATHAN!" with my bff as a kid.

-I like Castlevania Legends damn it.

-I own the American & UK copies of that God-awful Worlds of Power adaptation of CVII.

-When I have my hair back in a braid I sometimes feel like Sonya Belmont. When I wear a headband I sometimes feel like 12 year-old Maria Renard.

-I haven't played a CV since the PSP Dracula X. Life catches up to ya.

A looooooong time ago, I used to imagine that characters like Christopher and Trevor were Simon Belmont, because I thought a Castlevania game without Simon was just un-cool! I would conjure up stories in my head as to why Simon was fighting Dracula again.

Of a similar note, I used to own that one classic Gamefan (I think it was Gamefan) magazine that features Symphony of the Night and has Alucard on the cover. I thought that Alucard was supposed to be Simon Belmont, and I was like "WTF is this!?"

I grew up with Simon Belmont as an one of my iconic game characters, like Link, Samus, and Mario, so, you know... not including him in Castlevania was retarded to me. When I read up on Harmony of Dissonance, it made a specific connection to Simon Belmont by stating that Juste is Simon's grandson, and when I found out it referenced Simon's Quest a lot, I was spazzing out with excitement, so I was like, "Okay, I can play into this. This is stuff I know!!!" Before that, there was Circle of the Moon talking about some Quincey Baldwin or some such, and I was like, "...who the fuck!? Can we just get Simon? What the hell?"

Most people probably think I'm one of them Symphony of the Night starter dudes, but nah, I'm OG. I just kinda' keep it under wraps.
I'm so OG that I wouldn't even accept a game that didn't have Simon : D

The only thing stopping me from driving the 5 minutes it would take to hang out with JonTron is his inextinguishable fury for Castlevania: The Adventure. (Otherwise, I love the man to pieces.)

I DID THAT! I DID THAT VERY SAME THING TOO, I CONFESS!! Except without the plastic ball at the end. But I also confess that i even did LoZ stuff too. Made Link's original wooden shield as well as AlttP's Master sword. That shield was slightly heavy but not unreasonably so. <--Yes this isn't a CV confession but it is born out of that same imagination and love for the classics.

I think the Castlevania vs. Mortal Kombat idea works. I would buy any  Castlevania game where the phrase "They're huge!" is used at least one time.  I would whole-heartedly support the re-releasing of the N64 games on the grounds that no alterations or improvements are made.

Remember my name and know this. I have Suffolk Down Syndrome.

Stop me if you've heard this one.
A Belmont falls through a trap door into a square prison with no exits. After hitting three sides he smashes through the last one. Relieved and low on health he looks at the camera, smiles and says......"Pork chop?"
ULTIMATE FOURTH WALL BREAK!!! That just happened!!!

-I have my own castlevania origin story that I am trying to condense into a comic book script, and I implement it in my mind every time I play a classicvania.

-Castlevania will always be in my mind, the best example of the eternal struggle between good and evil and I hate when incredibly wierd games like DoS and OoE try to complicate that.

-My only real issue with LoS is how unrealistic it is, everything from Gabe having super human abilities like being able to stand on the top of an undead dragon hurdling though the sky, or how ridiculously strong he is. Mainly it's the fact that the combat cross hold like 3 stories worth of chain in that little iron cross as well as unexplained propulsive properties, I mean their isn't even a friggin button. Oh and if you've ever whipped a chain around, you'll notice how heavy it is, again with the super strenght

HOHOHO this is my thoughts too. Although I like how the Combat Cross looks aesthetically, it's just so unrealistic & operates more like a "hook-shot" than a whip, except hookshots seem to have buttons to release/retract the chain. With the Combat Cross, there's like 15 feet of chainlinks somehow compacted in a 2-foot hilt. The Belmonts in this series just wail it around like madmen, and considering the fact that enemies have a ton of health, it seems like the chain isn't doing what it should or isn't strong enough, despite being a "holy" weapon. Just look at Trevor's gameplay in MoF, he's flinging that thing & it reaches unbelievable lengths, yet takes multiple hits to destroy barrels & simple skeletons/lesser creatures. It just comes off as silly to me. Perhaps Simon's whip will operate differently, since it's a leather whip.

Well then I imagine they must be quite pleased with themselves.

As for my confession, years ago when I first beat CVIII I save-scummed the Dracula battle out of sheer frustration.
When I was in 5th grade I used to think that SotN's VA was phenominal.
